Hermann Goering Gold Belt Buckle. Hermann Goering was the commander in chief of the Luftwaffe and a close associate of Adolf Hitler. He was known for his lavish taste and avid enthusiasm for the outdoors. He was the highest ranking Nazi official to be tried at the Nuremberg Trials and sentenced to execution by hanging but committed suicide by cyanide the night before his execution. This belt buckle was found by 1st Lieutenant D.C. Watts of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Infantry Division in the underground storage rooms of the Platterdorf Hotel. The belt buckle was worn by members of the Goering escort for Goering's wedding to Emmy Sonnerman. This gold belt buckle has the Goering Coat of Arms largely embellished on the front and is nicely polished. Included is a certificate of authenticity. Excellent condition.
