Hermann Goering Black Forest Carving Ram Shelf. A wooden shelf bracket, carved into the shape of a ram’s head surrounded by leaves. He was known for his lavish taste and avid enthusiasm for the outdoors. This shelf came from Carinhall on one of the trains used by Hermann Goering and found with Hitler’s effects at the Berghof vacation home, near Berchtesgaden. Brought home after the end of WWII by 1st Lieutenant D.C. Watts of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Infantry Division. Right horn is slightly loose. Presumed artist signature on back faded, no cracks of splits in wood. Included is a certificate of authenticity. Very good condition. See lots 136-151 for more Hermann Goering items.
