WWII Nazi Gustloff K98 Bolt Action Rifle
This is a solid example of a mid-war production K98 rifle as manufactured by the Gustloff factory. The top of the receiver is marked with the "eagle/749" over "bcd" the wartime code for the Gustloff Werke at Weimar and "43" for the year of manufacture. The left side receiver wall is marked "Mod 98". The left rear portion of the barrel and receiver have the "Nazi eagle" firing proof and the rear portion of the barrel is marked with "43 bys shield proof and eagle / 13" proof. The rifle has the mid war pattern all milled components to include the closed and milled upper barrel band. Hooded front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters. The stock and handguard are the correct "bcd" produced laminated wartime versions and the stock has the correct single "C" proof and Waffenamt on the lower stock area. Complete with an original wartime cross-hatched leather sling and cleaning rod. All visible numbers match.
