Hermann Goering Cake Fork. Hermann Goering was the commander in chief of the Luftwaffe and a close associate of Adolf Hitler. He was known for his lavish taste and avid enthusiasm for the outdoors. He was the highest ranking Nazi official to be tried at the Nuremberg Trials and sentenced to execution by hanging but committed suicide by cyanide the night before his execution. This cake fork was found by 1st Lieutenant D.C. Watts of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Infantry Division in the underground storage rooms of the Platterdorf Hotel. Reichsmarschall eagle is deeply etched on the bottom of the fork and fork has seen use. Includes a copy of the original certificate of authenticity. See lots 136-151 for more Hermann Goering items.
