WWII Nazi G33/40 Bolt Action Carbine with Sling
These carbines were the German version of the Czech VZ33 carbine and were manufactured on the small ring, light weight 98K Mauser action with a smaller, lighter weight barrel and stock. The top of the receiver is marked with a single "eagle/63" proof over "dot", the wartime code for the BRNO factory, over "1942", and the left side of the receiver has the serial number and single Eagle firing proof, the side wall is marked "G33/40". The top of the bolt handle is marked with an eagle firing proof and the underside is marked "N9". Hooded inverted 'v" front sight and adjustable rear tangent sight graduated to 1000 meters. The left side of the buttstock has the signature metal plate in front of the buttplate to protect it from damage while in use. Correct full one piece pistol grip stock and full hand guard. The stock is absent of any markings. Complete with an original unmarked leather sling and cleaning rod.
BBL: 19 1/2 inch round
Stock: laminated
Gauge: 7.92 mm Mauser
Finish: blue
Grips:
Serial Number: 1377C
Condition: Fine. The barrel retains strong traces of original blue finish in the protected areas with the balance having a smooth silver gray patina. The trigger guard and floorplate have a smooth gray patina with a few minor dings. The receiver and bolt assembly retain 50% original finish thinning on the front ring and bolt handle, and normal wear on the bolt from cycling the action. With the exception of a minor crack in the hand guard running from the rear sight back to the receiver, the wood is very good with a few overall scattered minor dents and dings. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. The sling is good with some age cracking. The leather is supple for the most part. Mechanically excellent.
