WWII Nazi Eva Braun Hitler Napkin and Napkin Ring
Eva Braun Napkin and Napkin Ring. Eva Braun was the lover of Adolf Hitler and eventually became his wife the day before their suicide. Braun had known Hitler since 1929 and came to be lovers in 1931. Though Hitler wanted to maintain the image that he was single and solely dedicated to his work, he made many accommodations for Braun and spent many nights with her alone, either in his vacation home Berghof near Berchtesgaden or in his apartment in Munich and Berlin. She would marry Hitler on April 29, 1945 before committing suicide together with him the next day. One of the accommodations made for Braun was custom silverware, tableware, and other items. This napkin and napkin ring has the EB butterfly monogram embroidered on the center of the napkin and the standard EB monogram etched on the front of the napkin ring. The outside of the napkin has an ornate decorative, floral pattern surrounding the EB monogram. The border of the napkin ring has a simple dot pattern. The napkin has a pattern along the sides that has no damage or loose stitching. The napkin has seen some use and is dirty but has no damage or tears. Excellent condition. See lots 194-206 for more of Eva Braun's items. From the Michael Clifton collection.
