WWII KIA Medal Grouping consisting of WWII clutch-back sterling pilot wings by Amico, Air medal, Victory medal, Pacific Campaign medal, and Purple Heart named to Orville Kirtland. Kirtland was in the 40th Pursuit Squadron, 35th Pursuit Group, and was killed July 11, 1942, on an intercept mission over Port Moresby, where Kirtland and several other pilots flying P-39s were engaged in combat, and Kirtland went MIA. He is interred at Ft. Bonisacio Military Cemetery, Manila, Philippines. Included is a brief downloaded Squadron history of the 40th Pursuit Squadron and some information regarding Lieut. O.A. Kirtland. Condition to all items is fine. Est.: $600-$800/group.
