January 1944 - This is a Japanese WWII Nambu 14, complete with holster, extra clip, cleaning rod and spare firing pin. Markings indicate that the pistol was manufactured January 1944 at the Nagoya Arsenal, Toriimatsu Branch. The Nambu was invented by Kijiro Nambu, known as the John Browning of Japan, and was issued to almost all Japanese soldiers during the war. The semi-automatic pistol used 8mm ammunition and , even though this one has not been test fired, it appears that all the parts are in very nice condition, with the bore appearing sharp. The holster comes complete with shoulder strap and because of leather shortages during the war, is made of rubberized canvas, with a leather hasp and is in almost new condition. This is a very nice outfit and finding all of the spare parts, magazine, firing pin, cleaning rod and holster still intact is indeed a rare find.
