WWII Japanese Type 95 NCO Katana Samurai Sword, with matching serial numbers (01072) to the machine made blade and scabbard throat. The fuchi is correctly marked for the Kokura Arsenal. Complete with metal locking spring tab that secures the blade to the scabbard. Typical WWII Imperial Japanese Army style fittings, with a single suspension ring from the scabbard, known as the "New Military Sword" (shin guntou) style. It is said that during battle soldiers would not use the ring but rather would stick the sword through the belt the same way as the Samurai in ancient times. 38" overall length. 26 1/2" blade length. *in good condition but with a dent to the scabbard. Â
