Produced by I.G. Farbenindustrie A.G of Munich, this is a wartime production ZF4 sniper scope. Marked "GwZF4/ 2093/ bzz. (triangle)" on the left side, with the capped windage adjustment knob on top and the 14-position elevation knob on the right. Bzz code scopes are extremely rare! Traditionally fitted with metal sunshields, this model is equipped with an unmarked experimental Bakelite black rainshield, 2 inches long with a slight flare at the end. Though we have no data on the production date of the rainshield, it presumably would have been a wartime attempt to cut down on the amount of metal used for the scopes.
