WWII German P.08 Mauser Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, dated 1940, #8207r, 9mm, 4" barrel, blued finish, blued finish small parts, drift adjustable inverted "V" front sight and fixed "V"-notched rear sight, chamber dated 1940, toggle marked "42", mismatched numbers, checkered walnut grips, one nickel-plated steel magazine with mottled plastic base. Left side of frame is stamped "P.08". Nazi firing proof, and "eagle 655" proof marks on right side of slide. Frame is numbered 8207r, takedown lever and safety lever are numbered 07, slide and barrel are numbered 2354, toggle parts and firing pin lever are numbered 54, sideplate is numbered 67. Condition is very good, retaining approx. 90% of its original salt blued finish, with light holster wear to the sides of the muzzle, front frame edges, sideplate high edges, sides of trigger guard, and toggle lug edges. There is pitting on the barrel and front of slide, top of front and rear toggle pieces, and left rear frame ear. Gripstraps are very strong with just a light freckling of rust spots. There is a little wear spot on the safety lever, but the trigger and takedown lever are very nice. Grip screws are very good. Grips are very nice showing light wear and a few tiny dings, with a nice tight fit to the frame. Action, safety, and hold open function properly; bore is bright, with just a hint of frosting, that may clean to excellent. Magazine shows wear to the nickel-plated finish, minor rust spots, and the plastic base has some play in it. Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R/PPT)
