WWII German Mauser Banner Nazi Police Luger with Matching Magazine
This is an excellent example of a 1939 Nazi German Mauser Banner Luger as issued to the Nazi police. These Lugers were all produced as commercial Mauser Banner examples that were police proofed at the time of acceptance. The top of the chamber area is stamped 1939 for the year of manufacture and the front toggle is stamped with the Mauser Banner logo. The right side of the barrel extension has the single Eagle "L" proofmark designating police acceptance and the left side has the small Crown/U commercial proof. These pistols correctly lack all the various military/army Waffenamt proofs, however they are still numbered in the military style with the full serial number on the front of the frame and left side of the barrel extension with the last two digits of the serial number (94) on the various small parts. The underside of the barrel is only marked with the bore diameter "8,82" and the left side of the extractor and safety area are correctly marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" respectively. It is fitted with a set of unmarked checkered walnut grips with an all blued unmarked magazine with a matching numbered aluminum base. Since this pistol was produced in 1939 it has the all blued finish on all the metal parts.
