WWII German 25x105 Flak Binoculars, by Jos Schneider & Co., Gattingen, Germany, Werk-NR2238, desert tan paint, steel handle, leather headrest, with small metal identification plaque marked with wartime code ''kqc'', and additional small low-power scope attached. Overall measurements are approx. 9-1/2''x22''. Included is a camouflaged wood crate of unknown origin, decorated with hand-drawn ''D.A.K.'' logo, as well as Werk-NR2238. Condition is good to very good overall. Metal surfaces retain approx. 70% desert tan paint, with losses revealing a black and blue undercoating. Right prism contains a moderate chip; both sides, including the small low-power scope, with some hazing and could benefit from an internal cleaning. Color filters are functional. Headrest shows light wear for an item of this age, with the most pronounced damage being an approx. 1'' long tear to seam. Right prism housing may have been altered or replaced at one point, as the colors vary from side to side. This piece would make a great display item or candidate for professional restoration. Est.: $2,000-$3,000.
