A collection of ribbons and insignia which belonged to Ed Tovrea it includes his ribbon rack which consists of Campaign with 3 stars, Air Medal with 3 stars, Purple heart, Good Conduct, there is also his Purple Heart Medal along with a Good Conduct, there is a wing and heart sweetheart pin with his photo "to Mother From Ed", 2 inch Aviator wings a DUI, a silver German coin and a pocket coin, the latter items can be presumed to be Ed's personal items. Among them is a 4g 9K gold RAF enameled set of wings along with two sterling sets of the same, two U.S. Navy airmen wings, and two sets of Bombardier wings scarce sterling issues a one inch set and a 1 6/8 inch set. In discussions with his family the possibility of either collecting from other airmen at random or the more likely possibility is that these were collected and to be turned over to the escape committee of which Ed was actively involved to be carried by escapees to show to resistance workers to help identify them as friends. Also, some Hitler youth dagger insignia possibly traded from forest workers just outside the camp.
