WWII GI CAPTURED MAUSER HSC DOCUMENTED WITH ALBUM
WWII German Mauser HSc Third Variation pistol, documented to Sgt Harold Yeager of the US Army Air Corps. Gun is accompanied by a "SCHAMBACH BERLIN" maker marked holster, dated 1942 with unmarked spare magazine, the original capture certificate dated 1945 granting Yeager permission to keep the gun as a souvenir, and a scrapbook album with photos of Sgt Yeager and the salvage operations of P-38 Lightning aircraft on the airfields of France, and later Germany. Pistol shows correct eagle over "N" acceptance marks, and eagle "L" police mark on left side of trigger bow. Left side of slide marked "Mauser-Werke A. G. Oberndorf a N. / Mod. HSc Kal. 7.65mm". Bore is bright and clean, and high polish bluing is 95% or better. Original walnut checkered grips are very good, showing low to moderate handling, and no cracks. Gun is in overall excellent condition for the age. Picture album is brittle in places, with loss to binding, but pictures are clear and intriguing. Overall excellent grouping of items. Caliber: .32 Auto Serial #: 768324
