This fine German WWII period Hunting Association dagger measures 20 1/4" overall with an etched 13" blade marked " ORIGINAL (squirrel) Eickhorn SOLINGEN ". The blade is etched with foliate motifs along with forest and hunting scenes. Silver plated hilt with a down turned scallop shell guard and hooves at the quillons. Silver plated pommel with a ball capstan. Horn grip with a central deer head insignia of the Hunting Association. The leather scabbard has silver plated mounts and an acorn frog stud. CONDITION: blade shows original factory polish. Hilt shows light wear as does the scabbard though some plating is worn through. (02-24924/BF). NON-GUN. $700-1,200.
