MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 8mm Mauser. S# 9764. Bbl. 21 3/4". Serial numbers match on receiver, bolt, bolt carrier, locking flaps & firing pin carrier. Late type gas cyl. w/out gas escape holes is numbered w/ what appears to be "564" in electro pencil. Receiver marked on left side w/ "bcd" indicating manufactured at Gustlof-Werke II Buchenwald. Also marked "G.43" w/ German eagle proof & Gustlof "star burst" proof. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1,200m. Blade front sight w/ protective hood. Scope rail made w/out notch. Receiver & bolt carrier have milled finish. Threaded muzzle w/ correct muzzle protector. Laminated buttstock & handguard. Buttstock marked on left side w/ eagle "WaA 749". Cup type trap buttplate. MAGS: detachable 10 rd. marked on left side "aye", eagle acceptance mark & "G43". CONDITION: stock set has lightly worn original finish w/ staining & scattered handling marks. Metal has worn finish turning gray w/ scattered handling marks. Very good shiny bore. PROVENANCE: From the estate collection of Charles P. Obremski. (22-1373/RW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
