Interesting archive from US Army Signal Corps technician Gilbert W. Hidden, including: a Far East Air Service Command (FEASC) Award of Merit issued to "Technician Fourth Grade, Gilbert W. Hidden, 36428919, Signal Corps, USA, for Meritorious Service as a Teletype Mechanic," January 15, 1946; a carbon copy of the transmittal letter for the certificate, citing his "decisive assistance and exceptional attention to duty in the saving of valuable Signal Corps equipment during the typhoon which raged over Okinawa Shima on 9 October 1945"; and three original vintage photographs from his service. In overall fine condition.
