This is a very good example of a late WWII production British Enfield No. 4 MK 1 (T) sniper with a No. 32 MK3 scope. This was the standard British sniper rifle that was developed in the late 1930s, with over 26,000 produced it was used throughout WWII, Korea and well into the 1960s when it was eventually upgraded/converted into the L42 model. The left side of the rifle receiver is marked with a "T" denoting that it was targeted and the left side of the butt socket is marked "M47C / 1944 / B38449/ TR" . It is fitted with the original blade front sight with ear protectors, and the correct No. 4, MKI adjustable rear sight with the rear aperture milled off. It is fitted with the correct WWII smooth, semi-straight grip walnut stock and forend set with the removable, screw-on birch cheekpiece, steel buttplate with compartment and sling swivels. The stock has the standard acceptance proof marks in the pistol grip area with large "S51" denoting conversion into to a sniper rifle, directly behind that. The rifle is fitted with the standard No. 32 MK3 sniper scope that is marked on top of the tube "TEL. STG. No. 32 MK3/OS 2039A/ CT&S manufacturers marks/No.18706/", with the rings sequently numbered on the top and bottom half. The mounting bracket is stamped with the rifle serial number and it is complete with one magazine, original leather lens caps for the scope and a British canvas sling.
