This is an early production Luger in the "c" block that has the all salt blued finish. The top of the chamber is dated 1938 and the front toggle has the "S/42" markings. The left side of the barrel extension has the double "eagle/63" acceptance proofs with a single "droop wing" eagle firing proof. The rear of the barrel has the same single "Eagle/63" and "drooped wing" Eagle proofs with the latter also being replicated on the left side of the breechblock. The safety and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" respectively. It is complete with one all blue milled magazine that is marked on the left side "122/Eagle 37", with an aluminum base that is marked "6631/i".
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 9309c
Condition: Very good as partially refinished with 70% of the faded, thin blue finish with finish loss on the edges and high spots overall, some thinning and browning on the grip straps. The muzzle area, the top of the toggle and center section of the barrel, all show some old touch-up blue finish. The grips are in good condition with nice checkering on both sides. With even honest wear across the tops of the checkering, with some minor handling marks, nicks and chips. Although the grips are matching to the pistol they are a little loose. The Luger has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted above. A nice representative example of a 1938 production Luger.
