Item/Description: WWI US Army Model 1913 Cavalry Sword was commonly referred to as the "Patton Sword" because it was designed by General George S. Patton. Blade is marked US / LF&C 1918 with a bursting bomb (flaming grenade). This model was used during World War I and was notable as the last U.S. sabers designed for actual combat. No scabbard.
L.F. & C: Landers, Frary & Clark was a housewares company based in New Britain, Connecticut. It operated from 1865 until its assets were sold to the General Electric company in 1965.
