Manufactured in 1918. This pistol was one of 3,500 shipped to the Springfield Armory on March 7, 1918. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block 1897-1913 patent dates and address, with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations, the left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" , and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" is marked on the right side of the slide. The right side of the frame is marked with the serial number and the left side is marked with the circled "JMG" inspection mark of Major John M. Gibert. The barrel chamber is marked with an "H" and "P" and there is a "H" at the top of the hammer slot. Fixed sights, smooth trigger, checkered slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release and hammer spur, lanyard ring on the heel, unmarked two tone magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond pattern around the screws.

Condition: Very fine. The pistol retains 85% plus original blue finish with some wear on the front of the slide and high edges and areas thinned to a smooth gray and brown patina on the grip straps and areas of smooth silver gray on the barrel. The grips are also very fine with a few minor dings and nicks, and very crisp checkering. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
