This is a very fine example of the 1914 pattern, WWI Luger as used by all German forces. These pistols have an all rust blued finish with straw colored small parts. The top of the barrel extension is dated 1916 and the front toggle is marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/ gothic letter" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The Imperial Eagle proof is also marked on the top, rear section of the barrel, left side of the breechblock and right side of the barrel extension. The upper safety position and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". It is fitted with the standard checkered walnut grips, and it has fixed sights, with the stock lug on the back strap. It is complete with the correct nickel plated magazine body with the wooden base.
BBL: 4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue/straw color
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 2795l
Condition: Very fine with 95% plus of the original rust blued finish, with wear on the edges and high spots overall with some blue loss on the front edges of the frame rails, the edges and sides of the side plate hump and muzzle area. The grip straps and left side of the frame are thinning slightly with a light brown patina appearance. The blue finish in the center of the barrel is showing a slight frosty appearance, but still retains good solid blue. The various small parts retain half of their straw colors with the trigger showing slightly more straw color finish loss. The grips are in very good condition overall with nice checkering on both sides with light even honest wear over with some minor handling marks and light pressure dents in few places on both sides. Mechanically excellent. This Luger has all matching visible numbers except the magazine.
