WWI Era Winchester Model 1897 Trench Gun, #688119, 12 ga., 20'' barrel marked ''Cyl.'', Winchester factory blue finish, walnut stock, Winchester hard rubber buttplate, with 1918 dated M1907 sling. Perforated metal handguard with bayonet lug and solid frame. Condition is fine retaining approx. 90%-94% original factory blue, thinning to high edges and in actioning areas, with most of the losses to the rear left portion of barrel and as thinning to the perforated handguard. Stock with light scuffs, with moderate thinning to buttplate but no real losses to speak of. Action is crisp, bore is mirror bright. Mfg'd slightly too late for WWI, these were often carried by the Marines in Nicaragua in the 1920s and throughout WWII. Est.: $4,000-$6,000. (C&R)
