<B>WWI Fourth Liberty Loan Poster - “Remember Belgium”</B></I>. 20” x 29.75”, linen backed to an overall size of 21.75” x 31.75”, color lithograph, copyright 1918, painted by Ellsworth Young, published by United States Printing and Lithography Company, New York. One of the most famous poster images of WWI, showing a the silhouette of a German soldier wearing his spiked helmet dragging a young Belgian girl off to an uncertain fate. In the background a Belgian village burns. The poster meant to remind the American public of the atrocities committed by German troops as they invaded Belgium in 1914.
