Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 87317. Bbl. 19". Blade front sight with protective ears. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2000m. Matching numbers on receiver, bolt handle, bayonet lug, floorplate, firing pin & safety. Receiver top has ground mum & Type 38 markings. Left side of receiver has Nagoya & fourth series markings with serial number. Blued finish. Asian hardwood stock set with two piece butt & left side sling swivels. Handguard has a notably darker appearance than stock. Cleaning rod present. CONDITION: both sides of stock joint are separating at wrist, stock otherwise shows a set of initials on right side of butt, a thin crack ahead of bottom metal, scattered scratches, dings & handling marks. Metal is turning gray with strong traces of original blue & scattered oxidation. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good plus bright bore. (25-3837/MJC). CURIO. $300-500.
