Cal. 6.5 Jap. S# 48281. Bbl. 3 1/2". Blade front sight with protective ears. Ladder rear sight graduated to 2400m. Matching numbers on receiver, bayonet lug & floorplate. Bolt parts are mismatched. Receiver top has ground mum & Type 38 markings. Left side of receiver has Nagoya & 26th series symbols with serial number. Blued finish with strawed small parts. Asian hardwood stock set with two piece butt & bottom mounted sling swivels. Replacement cleaning rod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Kokura/Tokyo arsenal made Type 30 bayonet with scabbard. Blade is brightly finished & bayonet has hooked crossguard. CONDITION: sanded stock set shows a chip missing near buttplate tang, a small handguard crack ahead of rear sight, some dings & handling marks. Buttplate is missing lower screw causing it to be loose. Metal retains 85% blue with a touch up area around ground mum, scattered light oxidation & fading to gray. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Good bore with strong rifling. (25-3334/MJC). CURIO. $300-500.
