WW1 German P.08 DWM Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol, dated 1914, #8906i, 9mm, 4" barrel, blued finish, straw finished small parts, drift adjustable inverted "V" front sight and "V"-notched fixed rear sight, toggle marked "DWM", German police sear safety, checkered walnut grips, stock lug on rear grip of frame, mismatched numbers, and one mismatched steel magazine with aluminum base. Imperial German proof marks on right side of slide. Slide and barrel are numbered 3254; toggle assembly parts are numbered 54, as is the sideplate and firing pin lever. frame is numbered 8906i, and the takedown lever and safety lever are numbered 06. Condition is good as partially refinished, retaining approx. 75% bluing, with wear to the muzzle edges, front of frame, high edges of slide, and toggle assembly; thinning of the finish and high edgewear to the sideplate and trigger guard edges, wear and thinning of the finish to the rear of slide with some light pitting, wear on the rear frame ears, thinning and wear to the rear gripstrap, scratches and wear to the front gripstrap with some wear and refinishing at the top of the front gripstrap. Straw finish on the trigger has been mostly polished off; takedown lever is darkened, as is the safety lever. Straw on the ejector spring and magazine release is good. Grip screws have had their slots re-cut a bit wider than normal. Grips show several small dings and scratches, with some light wear and flattening to the diamonds. Grips fit well and are nice and tight. Action, safety, and hold open function properly; bore is dark with light to medium pitting overall, but still has definable lands and grooves. Magazine has been polished bright, shows some small dings, and has a second retaining pin added to the aluminum base. The base is numbered 1216m, "+", and Nazi "eagle63". Est.: $800-$1,200. (C&R/PPT)
