WORLD WAR I ARTILLERY SPOTTER'S RANGE FINDING DRAWINGS
Excellent grouping of nine different original pencil drawings of an artilleryman's views and ranges to various structures, accomplished on both sides of individual 13" x 3 5/8" beige heavy stock cards. The drawings, signed by soldier Joseph Berkowits and dated October and November, 1918, variously show farm structures, towers, factories, chateaux, a bridge, schools, etc. and individual distances to each. Additionally, each has tack holes at corners, which indicates they may have been used in the field, perhaps tacked to a bunker or blockhouse wall. Very good.
