CONDITIONS OF SALE
The conditions for the wine auction are different and the details are at the bottom of this one.
A buyer’s premium of twenty (20) % will be added to the hammer price of each lot and is payable by the buyer as part of the purchase price. The GST of 5 % for Canadian residents and the QST of 9.975 % for Quebec residents (or the H.S.T. for residents of the participating provinces) are also applicable to all successful bids as part of the purchase price.
Lots are sold to the highest bidder. In case of dispute, the decision of the auctioneer will be final. Lots should be picked up in the week after the sale. Purchasers must pay for their lots on pick up or before the delivery. An interest charge of two (2) % per month's will be charged to buyers on all overdue accounts. Payment by cash, cheque, money-order and Visa and MasterCard credit cards are accepted.
All bids are in Canadian funds. Bids in US funds will be converted at the prevailing exchange rate.
Forwarding charges, insurance and registration will be charged to the buyer. Shipment is executed at the buyer’s risk and responsibility.
Should a purchaser wish to submit an item for appraisal, the auctioneer must be notified, and the lot paid at the time of sale. If the lot proves to be not as described, the purchaser’s money shall be repaid in full.
Material described as having defects are not returnable on account of condition; please note that photos do count as descriptions. It is in the buyer’s responsibility to come and see the objects before the sale or to ask for an evaluation report.
The auctioneer reserves the right to group two (2) or more lots and also to withdraw any lot or lots from the sale.
The placing of a bid shall constitute acceptance of the foregoing conditions of sale. Bids will be executed by the auctioneer. Bidding increments are at the discretion of the auctioneer.
Mail, fax, phone or online bids are entered on a first bid received basis. In the event of a tie bid, the first bid received has priority. Bids are accepted only from regular customers or if a credit card number is supplied.
All sales are final sales, no returns are possible.
