WONDERFUL 19th CENTURY CENTRAL PLAINS INDIAN KNIFE SHEATH, PUBLISHED IN “CUSTER BATTLE GUNS” BOOK. Sinew-sewn and fully beaded on one side. Glass seed beads are attached with sinew. Lazy stitch beadwork consists of greasy yellow background with geometric designs in lime green, cobalt blue, sky blue, and white-heart red. Additional decoration of tin cones is mostly missing. This sheath is illustrated in the du Mont book CUSTER BATTLE GUNS pg 49. Fine period Indian sheath purportedly from te Little Big Horn battlefield. SIZE: Length 10-1/2” plus 3” tassel.
