Relié par Yvonne Poncelet : plein maroquin janséniste noir, dos à 4 nerfs et filets dorés, doublures de parchemin serties d'un cadre de même maroq. et filets dorés, gardes de tissu blanc à impression feuillagée, doubles gardes supérieures de papier imprimé, couv. et dos cons. (dos passé et lég. ombres ou pet. imperfections sur les plats).
30 bois en noir par Anto-Carte : grand bois avec rehauts d'argent et 2 petits bois sur la couverture, 3 sur double page à bords perdus, 4 à pleine page à bords perdus et plus de 20 ornant le texte autographique de la main de l'auteur et inscrit dans un cadre carré.
Edition originale au tirage limité à 275 ex. num. sur vergé à la forme Canson-Montgolfier. Ex. de passe donné par Anto-Carte à Yvonne Poncelet : "Pour toi, Vonette, ces quelques dessins, un peu de papier, un peu d'encre et tout mon coeur. Anto-Carte// Ce "cahier" est la première épreuve qui fut tirée. Il servit à établir les épreuves définitives [mot illisible i.e. avant ?] le tirage par Dorel à Paris". Il contient en effet des corrections d'épreuves dans les marges à la mine de graphite : ponctuation, pagination fantaisiste, réserve pour la marque de l'imprimeur p. 48, texte supprimé p. 27, etc.
L'ex. a été relié par la dédicataire et le beau papier des doubles gardes (repris sur la couverture de ce catalogue de vente) a été peut-être réalisé par Anto-Carte. Elle y a apposé l'ex-libris, dessiné par Anto-Carte, de son mari le Dr F.A. Poncelet.
Deuxième cahier du Marchand d'image "[...] dont les illustrations prétendent, par l'intensité, le moelleux des noirs, atteindre les très belles xylographies japonaises" (cf. prospectus d'éd.). Beau tirage des bois au noir brillant.

After full payment, buyers are kindly requested to take away their purchases immediately after the auction or at the bookshop the next Tuesday after the auction 230 av. Louise, from 2 pm until 6 pm.
Goods will be send only after customers’ payment.
Packing and dispatching are entirely at the buyer’s own expense.
Books whose price exceed 100 (EUR) will be send by registered post.

Payment will be made in Belgian Francs. We do not accept credit cards neither cheques whose total amount exceed 200 (EUR) or cheques not validated for higher sum.
Terms of sale require buyers to pay immediately for their purchases, which means that lots will be released to them only when full and cleared payment as been received by us
In addition to the hammer price, the buyer has to pay a buyer’s premium of 21%, V.A.T. inclusive, all strictly in cash and in Ero's (EUR)
In case of original art and if the principles of the author’s rights are applicable, an extra 4% must be paid on each hammer price of at least 1250 EUR
All items are assumed to be in good condition unless otherwise stated. Buyers are kindly invited to carry out their own inspection of the lots they want to buy. All items to be auctioned are on view for several days prior to the sale.
Returning an item after the striking of the hammer will not be accepted, whatever the reason put forward. Those items bought on order must be inspected within 8 days after receipt. Any return after this term will be refused.
All items of the catalogue with the mention « n.c. » (non collationné = not inspected) are not subject to return. Neither are those sold in lots (two items or more) works consisting in multiple volumes and periodicals or series.
If you cannot attend the auction, we can execute written bids on your behalf. To ensure a satisfactory service, it is necessary to make arrangements for the services at least one day before the sale.
On every purchase Belgian law only is applicable, and all cases of dispute are exclusively to the competence of the Brussels Chamber.
