WINCHESTER Model 70, # 3913, .22 Hornet, 24" barrel, re-blued finish, original Stith stiff mounted scope, narrow tube scope (probably a Lyman Alaskan), checkered hardwood stock with leather sling and leather cheekpiece. Gun is in very good condition as refinished, bluing shows streaking, retaining approximately 98% original finish. Stock is from a large caliber gun and is in very good condition, showing minor finish loss on the left side and is filled on the base to accommodate the smaller floorplate. Includes several Model 70 magazine articles and the original letter from Stith explaining the adjustment of the scope to the owner, Lt. H.M. Salley dated May 19,1937.
