RIFLE. Cal. 22 S, L, EL. NSN. Bbl. 21". Model 1904 single shot bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester between 1904-1931. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, followed by the model and cal. designations. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt assembly, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece straight grip schnabel tip buttstock appears to have been sanded and revarnished at one time. Dovetailed blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas, with areas of mild to moderate pitting present on the right side of the bbl. Bolt assembly exhibits some spots of age related discoloration. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots of light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with a small chip present at the toe. (25-1802/MLW). CURIO. $300-400.
