T.L.S. as President on White House letterhead, 1p. 4to., Washington, Feb. 20, 1918 to John Hays Hammond thanking him for his letter and adding that ""àIt is very gratifying to have such assurances of your approval of my action in a critical and difficult matterà"" Wilson might be referring to his ""Fourteen Points"" plan for the reorganization of Europe which met much criticism in Europe and later in the United States.
