He was pastor in Lubbock, Mexico, and finally Dallas. While in Dallas he took up painting as a hobby, but success in painting changed his calling. In 1968, he won a first prize in landscape painting and in 1973 he won a first prize in still life painting. This painting from the early 1980s is an excellent example of Slaughter's Texas wildflower paintings.<BR><BR>Provenance:<BR>Pritchard Galleries<BR>Acquired from the above by the present owner<B>Condition Report:</B> Excellent condition.
