ALS, "W J Bryan", shortly after losing the Presidential election to William McKInley, 1 1/2pp (single sheet), Dec 26, 1896, 4to, Lincoln, Nebraska, to Stilson Hutchison, mentioning the "silver" issue. In part, "...I appreciate the work done by you in V[irgini]a and am rejoiced that you have established a silver paper in Washington. Mr Bride spoke of you wanting to handle my book and I have written my publishers to correspond with you...I expect to be in Washington..." Some ink show through. Light soiling, o/w VG. $200-300
