Unsigned oil on board scene shows four sailing vessels under full sail. Land at left and right side. Right side with white lighthouse. Clipper ship is the “Fairwind” and it is flying the house flag of Boston merchant Henry S. Hallett & Co. and is also flying the flag of Stephen White of Salem and Beverly of the foremast. The clipper ship ing the background right is flying the house flag for John Hollins of Baltimore. The schooner is likely “Excelsior” of Salem built in 1848 in Newburyport, MA. All under a blue sky and having a greenish/blue wavy ocean. Housed in an antique lemon gold frame. Quester Gallery label on back with artist name and title. SIZE: 17-3/4” x 22”.
