<hr align=left size=5 width=33% color=#778899><h3 align=center>rare imperial albumen image</h3>(1846-1917). Renowned guide, scout and showman, touring the US and Europe for 20 years. A Pony Express rider early in his career, he gained his sobriquet, “Buffalo Bill” for his remarkable abilities with a rifle during buffalo hunts for the Army. Extraordinary Imperial albumen photograph, 18"x22" quarter-length portrait laid to backboard. In this sharp, clearly defined image, Cody appears to be in his 40’s, placing the image in the 1885-1895 time frame. His golden buffalo head tiepin is clearly visible. Mounted under glass within ornate oak frame. Overall 28"x32". The photographic image evidences a 2½" tear in top margin and a 1" tear in right margin, all away from his image with no paper loss. Four ½" tears at bottom edge with no paper loss, o/w in Fine condition. The Imperial size albumens, introduced by Mathew Brady, were only produced by the larger studios because of equipment requirements. Rare, and possibly unique in this size and condition.

11. All bidding is done in a competitive manner. The
winning bid will always be one bidding increment
over the second highest bid. The minimum
acceptable bid for any lot is 50% of the low
estimate given in the item description or $25,
whichever is higher.

12. Payment is expected immediately upon receipt of
invoice. All accounts are payable to Signature
House. Payment must be made in U.S. funds. Wire
transfer details are available upon request.
West Virginia residents will pay a sales tax of
6% unless a resale number is filed with us prior
to the closing date. For sales outside of the USA
a credit card is requested.

13. Shipment is made via U.S. Postal Service or
Airborne unless otherwise instructed. Handling,
shipping and insurance charges are added to the
invoice. Oversize and foreign shipments are subject
to increased charges. All items are shipped
immediately upon receipt of payment.

14. Golden Guarantee: All material is returnable within
seven days providing that it comes back in the same
condition. There is a lifetime guarantee on
authenticity to the original purchaser. The item(s)
must be returned with two letters denying it’s
authenticity by expert authenticators acceptable
