WIFE VS. SECRETARY

40" x 60" Photo Gelatin Poster; Meloy Brothers Framed
Very Fine
MGM, 1936

This is one of the special 40' x 60" posters that were created by the Meloy Bros. of Shelbyville, Indiana, in the mid-1930s. This company created special 40x60 posters that were distributed to theaters in the Midwest,

The Meloy Bros. colorized photo gelatin poster on composite board with hand-painted lettering. Slightest corner blemishes with a small paper ding in the lower right border area. Exhibits nice color with great shots of Gable, Loy, and Harlow. A rare 40" x 60" format from the `30s film era.

Jean Harlow and her favored co-star, Clark Gable, feature in a tale of confusion and mix-ups during a business trip. Jimmy Stewart and Myrna Loy also appear as Harlow's boyfriend and Gable's wife, respectively. The plot centers around a magazine publisher (Clark Gable), who, despite being happily married to a stunning wife (Myrna Loy), finds himself in a predicament with his attractive secretary (Jean Harlow) on a business trip to Havana, sparking jealousy. This light-hearted comedy is skillfully carried by the trio of stars, whose talents shine through in this attractive one-sheet film promotion.
