We have seen others, but desperately few. <B>Fair,</B> Some small paper losses. <BR>    Located northeast of Madison on the Beaver Dam River, Beaver Dam was a stopping point for Frederick Douglass in October of 1856, ostensibly on behalf of the presidential campaign of John C. Fremont. Today that moment is important principally as a reflection of the history of anti-slavery activism in Wisconsin.
During the afternoon of the 20th, he addressed a crowd of more than 1,000 from an open lot, and in the evening spoke again to an overflow crowd at the Kilbourne House, speaking on the major issues facing the American people in his time - from the abolition of slavery to women's rights, from the Civil War to lynching, from American patriotism to black nationalism.
