Lot of 35. Eight of these covers have letters inside and are unopened. All have postal stamps. One is an embossed envelope with a 2 cent green stamp, all others either have adhesive green 3 cent or 2 cent stamps. None are tied. Two are torn. There are 18 covers in the next grouping. All covers are devoid of letters. In this group there are 15 covers with tied or partially tied stamps of different denominations, and some are adhesive and others are embossed. The most spectacular of the group is one mailed from Janesville on 4 June 1859 to New London Conn. It is yellow and has the red, 3 cent postal stamp affixed upside down. Four covers are not tied. One is a small cover from 1855, mailed in Kenosha on 28 June to Miss Carrie E. Wolfer in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Also included are 5 U. S. postcards with the one cent postage attached. All are tied or partially tied. Fair to good condition.
