The turned walrus ivory handle on this cane is 1.75" high and 1" in diameter. There are 3 inset silver wire bands, 2 atthe top and 1 near the collar, and a silver disk on the top which is engraved "John Clapp / 1866" and has theMasonic compass in the center. There is a small, .25", silver collar engraved "Warwick, R.I." The single-piece roundwhale bone shaft has small brass eyelets about 3.75" below the collar. The ferrule is missing. One very small dryingcrack on top of the handle between the disk and the 1st silver band; old split where ferrule would have been. Overalllength, 34.25". (EST 400-600)
