WESTPHALIA: Jérôme Bonaparte, 1807-1813, BI 20 centimes, Kassel, 1812, KM-97, C-26, a lovely lustrous argent mint state example! PCGS graded MS63, ex Joe Sedillot Collection. In 1812, Westphalia, under King Jérôme Bonaparte, joined Napoleon’s invasion of Russia, sending thousands of troops who suffered major losses. Jérôme's poor leadership and the burdens of war weakened the kingdom internally. Though still under French control, unrest and instability were growing.
