The burlesque is based on the Bedborough trial for the sale of Havelock Ellis's 'Studies in the Psychology of Sex', 1898. The Watford University Press (there was no university at Watford) was owned and run by Weissenfeld under the name of Dr Rowland de Villiers : a shady character once jailed for forgery, a strong supporter of the radical press and of radical causes and Havelock Ellis's publisher.ALSO WITH THIS LOT: (1) WHEELER ( Wm.
