Wishing to depict the phenomenal proliferation of television antennas in an interesting new way, Weegee used one of his kaleidoscopic lens devices to create a veritable web of antennas. Coincidentally, the pattern is reminiscent of the geodesic structures that Buckminster Fuller was developing at the time. The forests of television antennas on rooftops have diminished in recent years as cable and satellite television have become more popular. Weegee's experimentation with his kaleidoscopic lens was adapted for fabric designs and in an experimental film, CINE-MIRACLE ADVENTURE, produced by Louis de Rochemont in 1958.
