Cal. 45 ACP. S# 77914. Bbl. 4". Mark IV "Boer War Model" double action revolver mfg. by Webley. Left side of the frame is marked "WEBLEY/ MARK IV/ PATENTS". Left side of the bbl. is marked "ENGLAND", with "MARK IV" marked on the left side of the top strap. Various British proofs are present overall. Rear grip strap is marked "1/00". Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl. latch, which exhibits a black enamel type finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered brown Vulcanite grips. Integral blade front sight, with U-notch rear sight. Rear face of cyl. has been shaved down to accommodate .45 ACP ammunition with moon clips. Butt is mounted with a lanyard swivel and ring. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, bbl., and cyl. (Cyl. S# is mostly illegible). CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots/areas of light to mild surface oxidation overall. Very bright bore, exhibiting dark mild pitting along the lands, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (25-2368/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
