Cal. 6.35mm. S# 470511. Bbl. 2 7/8". 1st variation Model 8 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther, circa. 1920-1926. The left side of the slide is marked "Walther's Patent Mod. 8." above the Walther banner logo, with Walther's mfg. information marked on the right. Right side of the frame and slide exhibit a German Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which has been heavily cleaned and is in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Walther brown checkered synthetic grips, with the left panel exhibiting a "6,35" medallion, and the right exhibiting a "CW" monogram medallion. Breechblock assembly is absent. Recoil spring is an improper replacement. MAGS: 1 non-compatible 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: firing pin. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, some areas with striations from prior cleaning, as well as some scattered spots of light to mild pitting overall. Right side of the slide retains a mostly gray patina, with areas of age related discoloration, and scattered spots of light to mild pitting. Bbl. has been heavy cleaned, with the bbl. down tapering inward at the muzzle. Bbl. exhibits heavy pitting, while retaining trace rifling throughout. (25-2072/MLW). CURIO. $250-350.
