Measures 7" x 5." Mounted. Measures 8 3/4" x 6 3/4." This photo has some darker areas in the upper portion. It's focus and contrast are sharp. The mounting is damaged along the lower edge and someone tried to repair it from behind. All the corners show wear but the upper left corner is missing a piece. The photo gives a bird's eye view of Upper Lowell, the Dean Mine, other mills and factories, and its residential area. Lowell, later named Everett, started out as a lumber area, built a lumber mill and then added a paper factory. In spite of the growing town, life continues as normal as shown by the clean laundry hanging on the line in the foreground. That washing most likely was done by hand as this new area did not yet have electricity.
