Manufactured between 1864 and 1872 with a total production of approximately 3,300. The left side of the frame is marked "WM. W. MARSTON / PATENTED / MAY 26. 1857 / NEW YORK CITY / IMPROVED 1864" and the matching serial number is marked on the barrel lug and left side of the frame under the grip. German silver blade front and groove rear sights, the three-prong extractor, firing indicator on the right side of the frame, blue barrels, casehardened hammer and the frame was silver plated. Fitted with smooth rosewood grips.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retain 40% of the original finish, concentrated in the flutes of the barrels, with the balance having a smooth brown patina. The frame has an aged patina. The grips are good with an age crack on the bottom of each panel, three filled hole repairs and a few minor dings and scratches. The frame marking is crisp and clear. The action is fine.
